Inge Liebe was born on 2 June 1938 in Dresden, Germany. When she was five she was deported with her mother to Auschwitz, where they were both murdered.

Inge’s grandmother, Tzvia Liebe, hid with friends throughout the war and survived.

She managed to keep her granddaughter’s doll, and brought it with her to Israel when she immigrated in 1966.
